Samsung has been boosted by a recent independent testing in the UK which found that its Galaxy S4 led the pack of current smartphones when it comes to battery life.
According to the testing conducted by Which?, the Korean electronics giant's flagship handset came up trumps in the battery-life stakes for across call time and internet browsing usage patterns.
The smartphone delivered an impressive 400 minutes of web browsing before its battery died. For voice calling it managed over 1000 minutes before giving up the ghost.
The Which? testing showed that the Apple iPhone 5 took the silver medal in both the internet access and voice calling stakes. However, at just under 500 minutes of call time on a single charge the Samsung handset was far ahead.
"The results reflect similar result rankings from tests of the phones' processing time earlier this week, where the Galaxy S4 again came first and the iPhone 5 was last," according to a new report in The Daily Telegraph.
The report noted that for all the phones tested for battery life, the Nokia Lumia 920 offered the least amount of time for both call time and internet use, with only 235 minutes of internet time.
"Users who make a lot of phone calls would make strong use of the Xperia Z or Nexus 4, which both offered more than 800 minutes of call time," the report added. "But for consumers who spend a long time online, HTC One and Blackberry Z10 had a longer battery life for internet use."
